Introduction

Our client is a hospital in Monterey, California, hiring a Medical Director to lead their well-established and progressive practice. With over 40 years of trusted service, the hospital provides exceptional care for both furry and exotic pets in a picturesque coastal setting.

Working Hours / Rota

The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Role Description And Responsibilities

The Medical Director will be responsible for championing clinical excellence, mentoring veterinary professionals, leading a high-performing medical team, and expanding medical services and operational efficiency. Clinical duties include surgery, urgent care, and general medicine. This role is open to experienced veterinarians with 35 years of clinical experience and preferably previous leadership experience.

Practice Details

The hospital offers a wide range of services including urgent care, diagnostics, wellness exams, vaccinations, sick visits, behavioral and nutrition counseling, acupuncture, laser therapy, echocardiograms, and an on-site pharmacy. The facility supports advanced surgery and exotic pet medicine in a growth-focused, innovation-driven environment.

Team

The team includes 4 DVMs and a collaborative, development-focused support staff. The environment promotes mentorship, leadership, and high-quality care delivery.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
