Connections Personnel has a Direct Hire Human Resources Specialist position for our client located in Somerset, NJ for a family friendly company that has been in business for over 30 years for a company that makes a variety of healthy food products using high quality ingredients. The HR Specialist will support Human Resources by serving as a link in handling work-related issues, investigations, leaves of absences, and benefits administration. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, fair employment practices and government regulations.

  • Provides guidance to supervisors/managers for any HR issues including hiring, firing and disciplining.
  • Cooperate with HR HQ to process worker's compensation claims reporting and coordinate investigations and process payroll in timely manner.
  • Oversee and maintain NJ office timeclock and update pay polices, holiday and other employment laws and updates.
  • Recommends forms and policies to remain compliant with federal and state laws and updates old ones.
  • Administrative Support, maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files, handle incoming calls, emails and general office tasks.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding, assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews and coordinating new hire orientation and training sessions.
  • Employee Relations, serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing information on policies and benefits and directing complex matters to senior HR staff.
  • Record Keeping, maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, attendance and leave information.
  • Payroll Support, assist with payroll functions, including collecting time and attendance records and processing documentation.
  • Compliance, ensure compliance with employment and labor laws and regulations.
  • Benefits Administration, assist with benefits administration, respond to employee inquiries and support open enrollment processes.
  • Training and Development, facilitate skill development and help create a positive workplace culture through various initiatives, such as events and performance recognition.
  • Provides technical support for company cellphones.
  • Provides Administrative support to the NJ and CA HR Team.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed for effective interaction with employees and other departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is often required.
  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and payroll systems is beneficial.
  • A relevant degree or HR certification can be helpful.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  • Administer Disciplinary/Counseling Actions and Terminations.
  • Ensure all legal postings are accessible and posted according to legislative compliance.

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and Sick Pay

Schedule: 830am-530pm Monday thru Friday Position is not a remote position this is full time in the office.

Salary: $25/hr
